All car and truck manufacturers rate their vehicles with a maximum safe tongue weight and that information needs to be recognized by the operator. With our built-in scale you can instantly insure that you are within your vehicles recommended range. Improper tongue weight can have severe adverse reactions while towing. Tongue weight should be between 5 and 10 percent of GTW, (gross trailer weight).

Too much weight applied on the tongue pushes down on the back of the tow vehicle. This forces the vehicle to travel in a very unsafe "squat" position. Taking much needed weight off of your vehicles front wheels making steering difficult.
Traveling with too little weight on the tongue will make your trailer "tippy" and has a tendency to pull up on your vehicle. This makes your trailer unstable and more likely to sway from side to side or "fishtail".
